I have to admit that I was not all that excited about a Captain America movie. In fact, I am more of a DC Comics type of guy. Anyway, that all changed when I saw the movie trailer while watching the new Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie.

The 300 style movie, Immortals is set to make its debut in theaters. The trailers have been coming out in an effort to get people excited about the movie.

However, it may have the reverse effect.

While I love to take in a great Greek epic movie, I am not as excited about Immortals as I thought I would be. What do you think? Does this new movie trailer help?

Are You Going To See Transformers: Dark of the Moon?

I realize that there are many who have mixed feelings about the first two. For me, I loved them. In fact, I would rate them within my top five all time favorite movies. I’m not a purist so keeping to the “actual” Transformers cartoon is not a big requirement for me in loving the movies. I like the fun. The ride. The “lose yourself for two and a half hours” escape from reality.

With that said, are you looking forward to seeing Transformers: Dark of the Moon? Are you going to be checking it out tonight? Or, waiting for the lines to die down? Are you going to see the regular film or the 3D version? Unfortunately for me, my schedule does not allow me to see it tonight. But… tomorrow I’m going for the 3D version!

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is all ready to be released! Just in time for this weekend’s release, Paramount has seen fit to show yet one more movie trailer to pump you up before you head out to see it.

This trailer does have some new scenes in it, but they are very quick and doesn’t really reveal anything new. This third installment brings back the familiar gang that of Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, and Tyrese Gibson. Of course, you can’t watch Transformers: Dark of the Moon for Megan Fox this time around.

As the release of Cowboys and Aliens gets closer Universal is continuing to release great looking trailers.

You can finally catch the Cowboys and Aliens movie on July 29th. It stars Daniel Craig as an amnesiac who holds the key to defeating an alien invasion force. Set in 1800′s Arizona, the movie also has star power in Olivia Wilde and Harrison Ford.

Another comic book based movie that is coming out next summer is one that is sure to be a box office smash. Cowboys and Aliens is based on an indie graphic novel of the same name. Jon Favreau (Ironman) is in charge of bringing this popular graphic novel to life on the big screen. The year of the remake continues with the release of the 1984 classic The Karate Kid. The new 2010 version is starring the combination of Jackie Chan as Mr. Han, the Mr. Miyagi of the new version, and Jaden Smith who is portraying Dre Parker.

While I am not sold on the need for a new Karate Kid movie I do think that the trailer looks pretty good. Maybe we shouldn’t call it a complete remake. After all, the characters and setting are changed. The story is basically similar, but it just isn’t The Karate Kid without Mr. Miyagi and Daniel-san.

When you look at remakes (and there are a lot of them today), the one that I am looking forward to is Nightmare on Elm Street. I was not a big fan of the originals and am glad that somebody has some vision for this new reboot of the film.

This new remake is scheduled to be releases on April 30th, and judging from the trailer alone, it could be much better than the previous ’80′s version.

I remember when the series, Avatar: The Last Airbender started on Nickelodeon. My kids loved it. They watched every single episode. Looked at all the websites. Even bought the series on DVD. I didn’t start watching it until last summer. Then I became hooked.

When the news broke about an Avatar movie, I thought this would be good. However, it was for a slightly different Avatar movie. But, then shortly after, it was revealed that there was, in fact, an Avatar: The Last Airbender movie being made. Both movies were being directed by top quality directors. Both had the label ‘epic’.

We’ve already seen the first Avatar, now it is time for the second. A trailer has been released that would only describe this other Avatar as truly ‘epic’ in scope.

As you can see, this is much different than the James Cameron film. While this is not on another planet, it is fantasy. My only hope in this movie, directed by M. Night Shyamalan (so glad I could write that and not have to say it!) is that the original story line is kept intact. We don’t need any tinkering with it. We don’t need any type of “creative discretion”.

From the looks of the Avatar: The Last Airbender trailer, it is pretty close to the first season. Maybe that means several more?

Synopsis from IMDB; Water. Earth. Fire. Air. In the old days, there was peace between the four nations of the world. The Avatar — Master of all four elements — kept peace between the the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Only the Avatar has the ability to Bend (manipulate) all four elements, but one day, he Vanished. Then the Fire Nation attacked, forcing a war on the other three nations for one hundred years. Now, for the good of the world, it’s up to 12-year-old Aang (Noah Ringer), the new Avatar, and the last of the Air Nomads (Airbenders), to return peace and balance by putting an end to the war and mastering all four elements. Aang must accept his destiny by stopping the Fire Nation’s war and defeating the Fire Lord for good.

Film is set to release on July 2, 2010.
