Twilight Review from a movie holic.
Ok. I had to break down and watch the new movie Twilight. I have to say at the beginning that this review might sound a little bit biased as I’m not in the least interested in reading the books. But, seeing where it is a movie, and it is widely popular (although current movie box office numbers puts it at number 2), and the raving fans have been having mixed reviews already…. I thought I’d give Twilight a try.
The movie is based on the immensely popular book by the same title written by author Stephanie Meyer. It is the first one in a series of four that chronicles the life and love of two main characters, Bella and Edward. Of course, there is a twist. Bella, or Isabella, is a regular girl in high school who has moved to Forks, Washington to live with her father. Edward is also in high school, but he is anything but normal. He is almost a century old and is a vampire. Not a normal vampire though.
It seems he’s a good vampire. He doesn’t kill humans only animals.
Anyway…..
Twilight the movie is, in my humble opinion, a flop. Putting aside the almost $100 million dollars it has earned in just two weeks of showings, the movie itself is really not that good. According to recent reviews, the movie just didn’t live up to the standard of the book. While the Twilight book was widely read, and hugely popular (especially with teen girls), I don’t believe the movie will be as popular.
Sure, it’s made some money, but will people want to go back and see it a second, or third, time as they did with The Dark Knight.
Twilight Movie Review From A Movie Watcher
I think the story is a good story. It’s creative, imaginative, and something that people can get interested in. I also think that if the movie was done a little better, the reviews would be a little kinder.
As a movie holic I have to say that the movie itself (regardless of whether or not it followed the book) was just poorly done.
The acting was ok, at best, and the dialogue was delivered with very little emotion or feeling. It was just boring. In fact, the first hour of the movie was life deadening and extremely slow-moving. Nothing of any substance really happens and the relationship between Bella and Edward really had to spark, sizzle, or allure.
The effects were horrible. The falls looked fake, the fast running looked awkward, and the scrambling up trees just plain weird looking. In one scene, where the big fight between Edward and James (the evil vampire) nothing really looked like it fit just right. Something was always off.
And that’s just about the only way to sum up Twilight. Throughout the entire movie, something was always just off.
The beginning was slow, the middle was drawn out, and the ending was abrupt. I could tell that they tried to cram a lot of storyline into the last five minutes of the movie and it just didn’t seem right. Something was off.
Twilight Recommendation
So….
If you don’t have teenage girls who are rabidly waiting to see this movie, wait until the DVD release where you can rent it and shut it off at anytime without feeling like you just wasted $10.

This is a good movie. I also like reading the book. I can not wait tell the next movie to come out. I hope it will come out soon. When Twilight comes out to DVD, I am going to getit. I think of the movie is romantic, and also kool to watch. Also the guys in the movie are really cute, also the girls are really pretty in the movie.
i don’t understand what is the appeal of Robert Pattinson (Edward), his nose looks funny
