The Dark Knight Passes Star Wars to Claim No. 2 Spot
It’s official.
The Dark Knight has just surpassed Star Wars as the number two highest grossing movie of all time. I don’t really know how I feel about this yet. I am a Star Wars fan. Yet, I am also a superhero movie fan. I deeply loved Star Wars, but didn’t really get into The Dark Knight all that much. It was a good movie, and certainly set a standard as far as superhero movies… I just didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
Anyway…. with it’s $471,082,150 The Dark Knight is second only to Titanic. Will it catch Titanic? Probably not. Titanic was in the movie theatres for a long time and didn’t really have any other summer time competition. And it stayed at the top of the weekend end box office list for a long time. The Dark Knight fell last week to Tropic Thunder.
But, that’s still pretty awesome for The Dark Knight!
